I got nothing...

Saying I got nothing is not completely true. Not that anyone asked me...but at any given moment I can take off on a topic like you wouldn't believe. Okay that's probably not fair to even mention to the people who read this blog. You guys already know I can go on and on about something or derail and go off topic pretty much at the drop of a hat. Although, believe it or not, I do try NOT to do that.

Anyway, even though there are several topics that I can rant, write, or rhapsodize over in any given moment of the day, just ask the SoCal Bloggers what happens when someone brings up LOVER UNBOUND for instance, I couldn't think of anything I wanted to talk about right now. I think I have three different posts started, but the words just aren't flowing. Good thing I don't have to write to pay the bills huh?

Bummer. That.

There are however (surprise!) a couple of things I have been thinking about. For instance, is it me or were the new releases in April pretty slim pickings? I think I've only purchased maybe five books this month? That's about a third of my usual purchases. I saw the new Iris Johansen hardcover in Barnes and Noble yesterday and couldn't whip up the energy to buy it. I've enjoyed the Eve Duncan series, but I don't know if I have enough interest left to buy the book in hardcover.

Although, I'm looking forward to Kresley Cole's new release on Tuesday, Dark Needs at Nights Edge (excerpt) and then on May 1st Anne Stuart and Elizabeth Hoyt have books coming out. Right? Please nobody tell me any of these have been delayed or changed. Okay?

I guess continuing to plow through ye olde tbr isn't the end of the world. I HAVE found some good books, really good books, buried in there. Oh and on Saturday I'm going swimming again after a two week "I'm too sick to swim" break. So I do have some stuff to look forward to. Maybe these bluish sort of feelings are just leftover from, you know, *whispers* being sick.

So I'm going to think happy thoughts and sing...

*cue music* "The sun'll come out...to-morrow. Bet yer bottom dollar that to-morrow...there'll be sun. To-morrow! To-morrow! I love ya To-morrow... you're on-lee a day a-waaaaay!

Nope, there wasn't many new releases this month which, in my opinion, sucks. I think that for us, buying books is such a habit that when we buy less, it disrupts our routine. I know that I was really bored this month and went up and down the aisles and there was just nothing. Nothing. :(

Nathie, is there anything worse than book money burning a hole in your pocket? :P Thanks for the tip about Kresley Cole's book. I'm running a bit behind this morning, but I think I'll stop by the store after work.

Yep, nothing sounds about right ;) I keep going to blog something and then think, nah, that's boring. Course, I don't remember censoring myself before!

I didn't know Cole's latest was this month - I thought it was June so you shared some great news with me!

Bad Ames. How could you not know Annie girl had a book coming out. Oh, right. Her rabid fangirl hasn't been blogging.

Nath, thanks for the heads up I got my Kresley Cole book this afternoon after work. Something to read this weekend perhaps?

Ames, I show the new Anne Stuart coming out May 1st which is like a Thursday???? Why can't it release on Tuesday like all new releases are supposed to? Why? Anybody?

Cindy, well ole buddy ole pal, I figure I'm in good company then aren't I? You know I don't know much about the AS new release. I think I'll mosey over to her site and see if I can track down an excerpt.

hey there Rosie :D Do you want to buddy review the Kresley Cole with me? I'm done reading it already, so just email me :D and I'm glad you found it :)

The Anne Stuart release date is May 1st because the publisher, Mira, always releases their book on the first of the month (Mira is part of Harlequin)... the good news about Harlequin/Mira is that their book always shows up at least a week early in bookstore :P As Ames told you, you can probably also find it already at your bookstore.

I got nothin' either, Rosie.

Oh, wait...is that a glimmer of inspiration, or an idea I feel comin' on?

Nope. Nothin'.

I think I just need to catch up on my sleep today. It's been a looong week.

Ames, I scoured my Barnes & Noble for the Anne Stuart book...especially after I read the excerpt on her website. Na-da. Have I mentioned how much that B&N BUGS me????

Nath, sure I'll buddy review with you, I'm only about 100 pages into it, but I might finish it later this afternoon and evening. I'll email you.

Becky, maybe fatigue is the linch pin to creativity and motivation because, I slept really well and really hard last night and feel waaaay better today. Still lovin' the antibiotics too. ;-)

LMAO Right! The bookstore in Canada starts with a "C" so I believe that's where my confusion stems from. LOL Plus it was soooo long ago.
