Glomming Historicals

Here at Nobody Asked Me Central I'm glomming historicals. While I truly enjoyed Lisa Kleypas' lastest release, MARRIED BY MORNING, I absolutely loved Sherry Thomas' HIS AT NIGHT.

I adored the details, the little things that an author throws in that makes a character whole. Lord Vere and Elissande, complicated, intelligent, deceitful and wonderful. Way to go Sherry. I hope you are at RWA so I can walk up to you and gush.

Now I have to decide what's next. The toughest decision in the world to make is what book to read when the last one you read knocked your socks off...

Diane Whiteside's THE DEVIL SHE KNOWS or Tessa Dare's ONE DANCE WITH A DUKE... Decisions, decisions, decisions.

I really enjoyed One Dance with a Duke. I suggest you read that next. Mostly because I'd like to discuss the last 1/4-or so of the book with you. I'm still unsure how I feel about it.

Well that's plain enough, Hols, Hopefully I'll get it read before the weekend is over.

I've been knee-deep in Harlequins because I was doing some contest judging. Quite a few good ones, although sadly the last one I read wasn't so great :(

Now I need a historical (as a palate cleanser), which is what I'm reading now (Carrie Lofty's Carina Press ebook - which lands on June 7).

I also need to go book shopping. Still have to pick up the new Sherry Thomas, among others....

Hmmm, can't help you in choosing, but I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed them both so much :D I'm buying the Sherry Thomas this coming week-end :D

In any case, keep us post on what you choose :P

I need to go pick up both of those books. After Not Quite a Husband by Sherry, I can't wait to read her new one! And Lisa is always a hit for me.

I miss you! Hope all is well!

Wen, I can't believe how many good books came out June 1st! I'm lovin' it. I picked up Ava Gray's SKIN TIGHT which will finally break my historical string. You may remember how I gushed and forced SKIN GAME on people last year.

Nathie, so I read Tessa Dare's ONE DANCE WITH A DUKE. I liked it a lot. You won't be sorry if you buy it.

Kati, hey you! I really enjoyed Sherry's HIS AT NIGHT. I know this is kind of a weird thing, but I love her vocabulary... it's detailed without being laborious, if that makes sense. Good book.

Holly, okay, so I finished ONE DANCE WITH A DUKE...wanna talk now?

Would love to. Wanna take it to email to avoid spoilers? Or do you plan to review it? If so we can discuss it there. Up to you. :)

I really loved His at Night and am waiting for my copy of Married by Morning.

I haven't read a Sherry Thomas novel that I haven't liked.
