Moo Moooooo...
It's okay I admit it. I'm one of the thundering herd that made their way to a bookstore yesterday and purchased LOVER UNBOUND by JR Ward. I want to read Vishous' story. There I said it. My name is Rosie and I like the BDB books. I almost can't wait to see what I think about this one knowing it's gotten some mixed reviews. I mostly skimmed the few reviews I've seen because I don't want to be influenced by anyone else's take on the book.
Besides LU I also purchased:
LESSONS OF DESIRE by Madeline Hunter
AIN'T MYTH BEHAVING by Katie MacAlister
DEMON'S KISS by Eve Silver
DEVILS ON HORSEBACK:NATE by Beth Williamson (ebook from Samhain)
MacAlister is hit or miss with me, but when she's on I really enjoy her books especially the dragon series. HOLY SMOKES is due out in November and I'll be purchasing that one for sure. I've liked most of Madeline Hunter's books and was sort of excited about this release because I've been on a historical kick. I've also been in the mood for a western, so I decided to try Beth Williamson after looking at her westerns at Samhain for about a year now.
I still haven't read the ARC of the Lynn Viehl book EVERMORE yet. If you are a fan, as I am, you probably think I'm crazy. I actually think I'll crack LU first. EVERMORE is my ace in the hole. Knowing it's there waiting for me (personally signed no less) makes me feel warm and fuzzy. A little kooky maybe? Cuz, I'm not taunting...really I'm not.
Labels: Beth Williamson, Black Dagger Brotherhood, Books, Eve Silver, JR Ward, Katie MacAlister, Lynn Viehl, Madeline Hunter

I can't past the silly names for JD Ward's series. I know, it's a dumb opinion, but opinions often are.
The other books sound good - especially Beth's book - I'll have to go check it out.
Thanks for the head's up!!
OMG, I have to get to a bookstore--LOL.
I've read the Evermore ARC, it's a good one :)
Rosie, could you let me know which titles from McAlister are part of her dragons series? If you've liked them, I want to give it a try... the only other book I've read by this other was something Corset... I do hope you enjoyed the books you bought :D
Sam, I probably shouldn't mention this as my romance reader club card will be revoked, but I often can remember characters names. In real life I'm a champ at remembering people but with books I have to recall plot first. Sad but true. Consequently the name thing isn't much of an issue for me.
TM, was so glad to read your post and know you are able to make time for reading again. Sometimes it boggles my mind how much I enjoy it. As for EVERMORE, well I can't wait.
Nath, here's the dragon series books by Katie MacAlister in order:
YOU SLAY ME
FIRE ME UP
LIGHT MY FIRE
HOLY SMOKES (release date Nov 2007)
thanks Rosie :D I'm happy, new suggestions :D so you liked them right? i guess they're a series so can't read them out of order...
so did you start reading LU? wonder what you'll think of it :)
I so don't think you're crazy, Rosie! It's nice knowing that you have a book waiting in the wings, isn't it?
I've been avoiding spoilers about LU, too. I hope to read it this weekend.
I've still never read a JRW book, nor have I read a LV ~ everyone seems to love them both. I keep saying I'm going to start the JRW books, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
Zeek, I'm reading LU as fast as I can! Maybe EVERMORE next, maybe the Williamson...I'm craving a western.
Nath, I did like the MacAlister books. Even though there are dragons, it isn't fantasy so much as...uh, well, like real people who are dragons living in the real world. So it's sort of humorous on some levels. But, I do enjoy them. They are light and fluffy though, not dark.
Casee, I've read about 200 pages now and I can see why people have said it's almost impossible to talk about the book without spoilers.
Dev, so now you have an ace in your pocket. A paranormal series out there that might be worth checking out. ;-)
I've been a spoiler ho and reading all the stuff about LU. Morbid curiosity more than anything else since this entry hasn't produced the ENDLESS gushing that the other books did. Now I CANNOT WAIT until you finish it. I'm dying for your reaction....
Signed stuff from PBW gives me the warm fuzzies too.
I like the BDB books but I'm a total groupy when it comes to anything by Viehl. I'd probably even go squee if I got to meet her. And I'm not the squee type. ;)
Oh, Rosie, you're going to love Beth Williamson! And...ummm... assuming you really like her, go read Chantal's post on Book Binge, then we'll talk on Saturday *g*.
And Dev, I'm one of the few who also haven't read any of the JRW books. And, gotta say, I really haven't been all that interested, either. *shrugging shoulders*
Wendy, I just finished LU. I'm pretty furious right now. I don't know how I'll formulate my thoughts to write up anything. I thought for sure you heard my screams in OC.
Shiloh I've only read her Lynn Viehl books and her Jessica Hall books. I didn't even know they were both her until sometime last year. I have the first book in the Star Doc series, but haven't cracked it. She is definitely one of the authors out there I have immense respect and admiration for how she conducts herself and her relationship with her fans. Heck, I might muster a squee or two for her myself.
Lori, I have to say the first 3 books of the BDB were certainly worth the time. But this one...I'm speechless.
As for the other ::wink:: let's talk for sure Saturday. For one thing there's lots to talk about in my case like 350-400 reasons.
I've been a little skittish about buying the Hunter book. I really haven't loved anything of hers since she went to the dark side. Although I did enjoy The Romantic. I'll probably end up getting it though.
Giselle, some of her historicals are only 'meh' for me because I loved those medievals so much. But she is a good writer and one that I can't bring myself to overlook when a new book comes out. Besides I really enjoyed RULES OF SEDUCTION last year, so I have high hopes.
Hi Rosie, I'll be buying the next Aisling Grey right along with ya.
Chantal, these have been fun haven't they?
