And the doctor said...
It's my thyroid! Yep. So I'm back on synthroid. And coincidentally I asked him to check my left ear because it's been bugging me. I figured it was water on the ear from swimming.
Uh...yeah...well I never claimed to have a medical degree. I have an ear infection. I'm on antibiotics as well. Of course once diagnosed my ear started to hurt like there was no tomorrow. I'm such a dork.
Feeling better already just to know my fatigue wasn't all in my head. Now if I could just hear out of my left ear...

Ear infections as an adult HURT. I had one when my wisdom tooth was impacted, and it was some of the most excruciating pain I'd ever had. A friend of mine experienced vertigo like symptoms with an inner ear infection.
Glad they figured out he source of your fatigue, and that you're recovering now.
Guess what? Hypothyroidism can cause too much wax build up and cause ear infections! That's what's so annoying about this disease, all those freaky little unrelated things that are actually, you know, related! Good luck with the synthroid, and check out Mary Sholom's book on thyroid illness, she helped set me on the right path in a lot of little ways. Oh, and try taking your meds last thing at night--it seems that helps with...what's the word? Ingestion? Oh, I forget--but less stuff going into your body means less interference for the meds to do their work!!
Glad you know what's going on now! That's most of the battle.
Awwwww, I hate ear infections! I always manage to get them in my good ear, which then renders me completely deaf.
Glad to hear that you are going to get teh thyroid under control, and you knoww hat's going on! Hang in there!
Poor girl! Ear infections are the worst!
I'm so glad you know why you've been so exhausted, though, and that it's treatable.
I'll be sending positive thoughts your way!
I hope you feel better soon! I hate earaches, I'm always getting them, as a kid, and even now as an adult. Ugh!
Awww, poor Rosie!! It sucks for you!! Hope you're not too much in pain and that you'll heal fast!
Hmmm, seems like something is running among bloggers.
Take your medicine, buddy. But not with wine, I'm guessing. I heart you and get some rest.

Becky, it hurts, it's a nuisance, and I can't hear out of it. Aargh!
Gabrielle, thanks for the info. AND, I'll be looking for that book.
Jen, thanks.
Lori, well that would really suck. I can hardly hear out of my darn ear and to say I'm cranky is putting it lightly. How do you stand it?
Thanks Holly, I'll take all the good vibes I can get so I don't commit a capital crime and end up in orange coveralls for life.
Sam, misery LOVES company. Tell me they drive you crazy too. I haven't had an ear ache since I was a kid and this one is making me loopy.
Nath, I probably shouldn't have ignored my ear for so long thinking it was just swimming related. *sigh* I know better now.
Lb, thanks buddy. Screw the wine I'm ready to main line gin. Although, I don't know if my stomach could take it.
No orange coveralls, babe. I'd totally bail you out.
Yikes! I'm glad they found a reason for the fatigue and you can get it kicked. Ear infection - ow! I used to get them as a kid and I remember banging my ear on a door getting into a car - I swear if I could have forced myself to pass out I would have. The pain was unreal - turns out the meds weren't getting into the ear so it only got worse for 2 weeks until I went to doc who then shoved a huge syringe in my ear to wash out a chunk of ear wax. Sobbed it was so painful.
So, I think you get official whine time for the next few weeks ;)

Oh I'm so glad that you've figured it all out and are feeling better. Wonderful.
Hey it's been a couple of days since you posted this, so are you feeling better? I hope so!
((((Rosie))))
I've been on Synthroid for ears. It's not the worst thing to have. I also get a lot of ear infections - I consider those worse.
I love your blog design.
Holly, I love you!
Cindy, our 3-day weekend came just in time! Fortunately I got to relax, read and sleep for most of it.
Tracy, thanks...from your lips to God's ears.
Ames, I am feeling better, not as well as I think I can, or will be, but better. Thanks.
Ashley, no taking synthroid isn't the end of the world being so dang tired was pretty close though. *g* I couldn't figure out why it was getting worse and worse no matter how much I slept. So do you think your ear infections connected to your hypothyroidism?
That is great to hear, thank you for reading!
Thank you, that was just an awesome post!!!
